This piece was inspired by a number of things, most importantly the recent 2009 open season on wolves in the United States. Is this wolf crying out in defiance? Anger? Anguish? You decide.

This piece has been shortlisted for the DSWF "Wildlife Artist of the Year 2010" exhibition and has been sold.

I have to admit, countless suggestions pertaining to various interpretations of this self-same subject have come my way, and this piece, Desperation by *CristinaPenescu, is the first where I was truly wowed. Clarity is bursting at the seams here, where almost every clump and wisp of hair seems magnified and sharpened, the entire image bathed in a penetrating spotlight... simply impeccable. This.... Is absolutely beautiful. I have seen a number of wolves on DA, but this really stands out. You can catch the mood in the pic as clearly as if you were standing right there beside the wolf. You can almost feel the rain *^* Amazing work.
